Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a free service patrons may use if Charlotte County Public Library does not have a book or article they need. Library staff will do their best to find a copy of the book or article at another library somewhere in the United States through the interlibrary loan system. Patrons may request an interlibrary loan at any library location. Some helpful information about interlibrary loan:

  • Certain items will not be available through interlibrary loan. These include, but are not limited to: textbooks, brand new books, rare items, genealogical works, and DVDs.
  • Interlibrary loan requests usually arrive in less than two weeks but can take up to a month.
  • Due dates for interlibrary loan are set by the library that owns the book, not Charlotte County Public Library. Overdue fees for interlibrary loans are $1/day.
  • In some cases, you may be able to renew your interlibrary loan.

Notary Services

Notary services are available at the Main Branch in Charlotte Court House on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-2pm. There is a $2 fee for notary services, payable in cash only.
